Fisher Island is a lovely secluded neighborhood set on one of the barrier islands immersed in the emerald waters of the Atlantic Ocean three miles to the East of the Miami shore. The island is not connected to the mainland in any form, and the only way to get there is by boat or ferry. Fisher Island is considered to be one of the most luxurious islands in South Florida.
All residents have a resident card that grants them entrance through security, while everyone arriving for a stay at the island’s two hotels must be checked by a private security service. Thus the island is considered to be the safest place to live in the United States. Its current population is around 132 people, and it’s nearly impossible to find a more exclusive neighborhood in the state.
Being close to both Miami and other beautiful barrier islands, the island is a perfect location for everyone who prefers boating to any other means of transportation. The island itself offers an array of lavish amenities, including private marinas, magnificent beaches, salt-water pools, golf courses, tennis courts, a world-class spa, fitness centers, and a number of restaurants and bars. The island also boasts a private observatory and an exotic bird enclosure.
